LUDWIG's HOUSE

Ludwig's House is a collection of nodes, rendered heavy and monolithic. As a stately timepiece or musical automata, the volumes are orchestrated to move asynchronously and in season. A central bridging piece slowly rotates to dock among the primary vessels and create circuits of travel.

Inside and among each piece is the collection for the Museum of Music of Hungary. The network of four primitive pieces sits atop a thickened tray or stage. This elevated ground plane, with the site carved and descending below, is the new horizon line separating the music machine from the world. The visitor enters from below and emerges on the new ground.
